STEP WISE BONDING
PROCEDURE FOR SPARKLE
Step 1. Etch the tooth
with an etchant. Step 2.
Air dry the tooth surface. Step 3.
Apply primer on the tooth surface with a brush.
Step 4. Apply a conditioner
on the bracket base (Cold cure Monomer) or any commercially available composite conditioner. Use a separate
brush for applying monomer. Use of same brush for applying primer
and monomer will result in gelling or setting of primer
Step 5. Apply the primer
on the bracket base over the conditioner . There is no need to wait
for drying . Primer can be applier on wet or freshly applied
monomer. Step 6.
Apply paste over the bracket base and place the bracket on the
tooth, wait for 90 seconds for paste to set . The conditioner is to
be applied to the bracket base even lf the bonding adhesive is light
cured . The curing can be done after placement of all the brackets.
Sparkle has distinct advantage over metal bracket when light cure
bonding is used because the unique material used to make the bracket
permits light penetration through the bracket giving a better bond
strength. In
case of bond failure bracket rebonding can be done after cleaning or
removing the adhesive for the bracket base with a straight
fissure micromotor bur and then following the bonding procedure
mentioned above.
Bracket recycling is not recommended. |
